Notice BoardUnder Policy Information you will find a new document entitled "Insurance Provision for Medical Treatment/Procedures" which is designed to provide guidance for staff who are or may become involved in the administration of medication. Although it should be noted that each case will be considered upon its own merit in the event of a claim being received, the document contains a list of key procedures and the extent of cover, if any, provided. Please note the important points concerning training and the following of instructions from a qualified person/body. The extent of cover has been updated after consultation with insurers following first publication. With the increase in theft ol lead, please note the helpful tips in the new document "Theft of Lead and Other Metals from Buildings" available under Risk Management and Security Advice. |
What We Do |
Risk Management & Insurance provides schools with a comprehensive insurance package through the Council's Safehands Insurance Programme which has been specifically designed to protect against many of the adverse risks that schools have to face.
In addition to the standard package we also offer School Travel Insurance at very competitive rates. Belonging to Safehands has many other benefits. For example, we work closely with schools providing advice and support when claims for compensation are made or suspected. We also provide advice on security issues and will visit schools where there are particular problems to try and identify solutions.
The aim of this web site is to keep schools informed about all aspects of their insurance arrangements to include details of policy cover, how to deal with claims both for and against, risk management/security issues, topics of interest such as seminars and good practices within our schools and of course how to contact us. We hope you find this site both interesting and useful. Please take the time to have a read through.
