Notice BoardMoving into 2009 New guidance for staff involved in healthcare provision as a part of their official duties will be found in the updated document ‘Insurance Provision for Medical Treatment/Procedures’ under the Policy Information section. Based upon the findings of a consultation exercise within KCC, the document includes a list of medical treatments which staff might be asked to undertake once they have received suitable training and in line with pre-set instructions from a medical professional. If treatment is being provided by staff which falls outside this guidance or might be considered a task for a medical professional, please contact us for clarification. What We Do |
Risk Management & Insurance provides schools with a comprehensive insurance package through the Council's Safehands Insurance Programme which has been specifically designed to protect against many of the adverse risks that schools have to face.
In addition to the standard package we also offer School Travel Insurance at very competitive rates. Belonging to Safehands has many other benefits. For example, we work closely with schools providing advice and support when claims for compensation are made or suspected. We also provide advice on security issues and will visit schools where there are particular problems to try and identify solutions.
The aim of this web site is to keep schools informed about all aspects of their insurance arrangements to include details of policy cover, how to deal with claims both for and against, risk management/security issues, topics of interest such as seminars and good practices within our schools and of course how to contact us. We hope you find this site both interesting and useful. Please take the time to have a read through.
