School Governance Unit: Training & Development |
Governor Professional Development and Training Programme 2008-2009
The Governor Training and Development Unit is part of the Advisory Service Kent and schools are able to purchase its services. Most do so by buying an annual package, using part of their Standards Fund.
A comprehensive and flexible programme of training is available for individual governors, governing bodies and clusters of schools to address both national and local priorities. There is an annual conference on topical issues. Particular emphasis is given to the broad range of regular seminars and courses for governors with particular specialisms (such as committee membership or specific roles within their schools), the induction of new governors and the provision of tailored sessions for individual governing bodies or clusters.
