The nature of the Extended Services agenda means that schools and partner organisations are running localised activities for families and communities on a sometimes regular or ad hoc basis. The success of these activities is almost entirely dependent on good advertising and subsequent good attendance. Therefore on this page you will find a number of "parent-friendly"* templates, intended to be used in the localities to advertise community/school activities and services, such as filmclubs, coffee mornings, dads clubs, family learning etc. They are designed to be distributed electronically or printed in small amounts (not using a professional print company) so they can then be displayed in schools/community centres/libraries etc.
These have been designed, in partnership with the CFE communications team, to ensure efficiency and uniformity.
There are 2 templates designed for primary school activities and 2 designed for secondary school activities. Each is available in word as A4 or A5. The borders are static but the content can be changed according to need.

Publication Approval Process
If you are using these templates to create small print runs locally (not through a print company) then you do not need to seek approval through the current CFE publication approval process. However all publications must at least be logged. Therefore, the CFE communications team are currently working on a publication logging process, which will be much quicker and designed specifically for logging these type of publications:
Until this is in place you will need to make a note of all these type of publications so that this information can be fed into the new publication logging process once it has been set up. However you will no longer have to wait for approval from the CFE communications team to produce your posters unless you are doing a large print run using a professional print company.
IMPORTANT: If you are not using the above templates or you need to use a professional print company to create hardcopies then you must follow the current CFE publication approval process and complete the online publication approval spreadsheet.
"Parent-friendly"* templates
A variety of parent groups were asked (via Family Liaison Officers and Parent Support Advisers) to feedback on what they thought of 6 different designs. 86 responses were received and these informed which design was finally chosen.
Feedback about these templates would be much appreciated. Please send any comments/evaluations to the CFE communications team.
