Kent Learning Zone

Kent LA Children, Families and Education (CFE) Directorate have commissioned EIS to develop ‘Kent Learning Zone’, a secure portal offering communication and collaboration tools built on the latest Microsoft Learning Gateway technology.

Kent Learning Zone Includes:

  • MySchool site Schools can customise.

  • MySite for each user - customisable secure sites with personal storage for children and staff.

  • Simple pricing - Free school site and teacher accounts. £2.50 annual subscription for each pupil or student account.

  • Web email (Microsoft Outlook Web Access).

  • Live Communications (optional for students).

  • Support for virtual learning environments (VLE's).

  • Free installation.

  • Kent Learning Zone also makes economic sense for schools, as it provides your own email solution - no maintenance, no servers!

*Kent Learning Zone is only available to maintained Kent schools subscribing to Kent Public Service Network (KPSN) broadband.

During January and February 2008, Kent Learning Zone hosted a series of roadshows to preview the KLZ. Delegates from approximately 300 schools across the County attended the roadshows watching presentations and demonstrations from CFE and EIS as well as four Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) providers who are the first to be integrating their products within the KLZ.
