Knockhall Children's Centre

Governance - Get involved

We are determined to make a difference to child well being and ensure that all children aged 0 – 5 are healthy, safe and have good chances for education, enjoyment and achievement. We recognise that this requires collaboration with parents, carers, child minders, local nurseries and other service providers that support child development.

Our children’s centre reflects the priorities and needs of the parents, carers and children within the local community. We have established a children’s centre committee which includes parent representatives and representatives from local service providers in health, early years, education and social services and have a promising parent’s forum. This reflects our service delivery model of an integrated approach, where we have parent volunteers and paid staff that provide health, early years and social services as members of one Knockhall Children’s Centre team.

YOU too can influence the service provision in this Children’s Centre.  Your input is incredibly important to us and ensures that the services we provide are relevant to our communities needs.

Why not get involved?

As a parent or carer you can become part of our Sure Talk Group.  This committee meets monthly for a fairly informal chat. Any ideas, comments and suggestions are presented to our Advisory Board within the minutes for them to take forward. A crèche is provided.

As a partner, within a school, nursery, playgroup or crèche setting or as a local councillor, you can attend our Bi-Monthly Steering group.  Minutes from these meetings are also presented to the Advisory Board and these meetings give each of us a great opportunity to promote our services.
