Little Gems Children's Centre
About the centre
Little Gems has been opened since 2002 when it was part of the Local Surestart Programme. We are housed in the old Family Centre in the heart of the Wallis Park Estate.
 | The new building has been erected next to Lawn Primary School and we will be moving there at the end of November. We are an inclusive Centre and we welcome all families with children of pre-school age to access our free services. |

| The centre is opened all the year around from 8.30 – 4.30. An informal drop-in approach is encouraged so that all staff are as accessible as possible, without the need to make appointments. In holiday times services are widened to include older children. |  |

 | We also have a shop in the Hive Shopping Centre which has recently been overhauled. Our Centre provides a variety of services from various venues and our services can also be taken into the family home. Our services are continually monitored and evaluated to ensure we are meeting the needs of our families by providing high quality services |

| New services are parent initiated, where the parents’ needs are identified and services are tailored to meet these needs within the ECM agenda. Lawn was designated as a Sure Start Children’s Centre February 2008. |
