School holidays
We are open as usual during the school holidays, we also welcome older siblings to the centre up to the age of 8 years old.
Woodlands Children's Centre began as East malling Children's Centre and, as some of our visitors will remember, in a local house. In late March we moved to our own dedicated centre on Chapman Way on the same premises as St. James The Great Primary School. We now have a full team of helpful and friendly staff and a beautifully equipped play room and outside areas:
The centre also benefits from:
A multi-purpose room that can be used for play sessions, support groups or as a meeting room (seating a max of 20 people)
A medical room used by our visiting midwives and as a private place for breastfeed or personal chats.
Our new centre has led us to look for a new name to better fit our new surroundings. We asked the local primary school and our visiting families to suggest new names for us. We short-listed our favorites and asked all visitors to the centre to vote for their preferred choice. The eventual winner was a name suggested by Kacey, aged 6, from St. James The Great Primary School and we have now become Woodlands Children's Centre.
