Welcome to Six Bells Children’s Centre
Vision Statement:
Working in partnership with parents and carers, at the heart of the community, our aim is to reach every child aged 0 – 5 to raise aspirations and improve outcomes.
We believe that parents are the most important people in their children’s lives and that
every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential.

What do we offer?
We work closely as a Network with Cliftonville Children’s Centre to provide a range of
services across the area. The two centres cover Margate Central, Cliftonville, Salmestone and Kingsgate and parents are welcome to access services at either centre. Services include Parent and Toddler Groups, Breastfeeding Support, Low Cost Home Safety Scheme, Children’s Book Library, Fathers Group, Young Parents (YAPS) group, Parenting courses and much more.
We also offer Outreach services and our Community Involvement Workers work as a team across both centres. They are a friendly face and an excellent source of knowledge on the local area and support available.
We aim to ensure our services are as inclusive as possible. If you need any help to access services or additional needs please contact us to find out how we can help.
If you would like to register with the centre or find out more about services please contact a Community Involvement Worker.
Did you know?
• We now have 787 children registered?
• We saw 984 different parents last year?

Parent Forum
The Parent Forum is where parents and carers can get involved in decisions in the children’s centre. We meet to discuss ideas on what has worked or suggestions on how to improve. It is friendly and all parents are welcome. Some parents only attend the meetings and others get involved in the Steering Group and Advisory Board to represent parents.
To find out more please contact the Children’s Centre or come along to our next meeting..
Example of how parent feedback has helped us to improve:
Parents discussed accident rates in the area and the Home Safety Scheme. Parents commented that many people could not afford stairgates. Parents who live in the children’s centre area on low incomes are now eligible for a 75% discount if they take up a home safety visit.
Compliments, suggestions and complaints
We welcome all suggestions and comments from parents as it helps us to improve our services. Please contact any member of the team or use the suggestion boxes in the centres. You are welcome to attend our Parent Forum to get involved in decisions. If you are not happy with any aspect of our services, please let us know and we will try to put it right.
If you are not satisfied with the response or wish to make a complaint, please contact
Sheridan Grundy, Children’s Centre Network Manager on 01843 254 500 or email: sheridan.grundy@kent.gov.uk
