Within most subsections there is a: - Practical Tips document that provides a list practical ideas to help develop the particular area and/or practical tools all of which have been developed by the British Heart Foundation National Centre for Physical Activity and Health
- Local resources
- List of other relevant downloadable resources

National training: National PE and School Sport Professional Development Programme
DCSF The National PE and School Sport Professional Development Programme (NPDP) is one of the eight strands of the PE and School Sport, Club Link (PESSCL) Strategy. This is enabling teachers, coaches and AOTTs increased opportunities for professional development. Delivery of the NPDP at the local level is managed and co-ordinated by the Local Delivery Agencies (LDA). TOP Play and TOP Sport training
TOP Play offers 4 to 9 year olds the opportunity to develop their core physical and movement skills through fun and stimulating activities. TOP Sport is aimed at 7 to 11 year olds and provides opportunities to develop sports skills. Training and support are provided for teachers to enable them to maximise the impact of these resources within their school and there is a flexible continuing professional development programme. TOPs training is co-ordinated by the LA. For further details of relevant national training opportunities for all those involved in promoting physical activity, look at the training section in:
