Freedom Roadshow comes to town

Students and parents can find out all about the highly successful Kent Freedom Pass when the roadshow bus drives into Dover's Market Square this Thursday (28 August). Members of Kent Youth County Council - who pressed for the bus pass for under 16s - will be on hand to answer questions along with council officials and representatives from bus operator Stagecoach.

Kent's schools improve GCSE performance again

More than 15,000 students aged 16 from across Kent got their GCSE results today and continued the year on year increase in attainment, maintained since 1995. At least 67.1% of students on roll at the beginning of the year will have achieved five or more A*-C grades - an increase of approximately 2.2% on 2007.

More than 15,000 Kent students await their GCSE results

The wait is almost over for more than 15,000 Kent GCSE students, who collect their results this Thursday (21 August). Kent County Council's Cabinet Member for educational standards Chris Wells will join students at Castle Community College in Deal, as they open their envelopes.
