Welcome to the ICT Strategy Conference
15th March 2005 – Ramada Hotel, Maidstone
"2004 was a monumentally exciting year in the development of ICT in Kent’s schools. The ‘Connecting Kent’ Broadband project is finally underway and later this summer, schools will be able to join the Kent Community Network and begin to realise all the benefits to teaching and learning our new network promises.
Several core digital community and media research projects, including Putting Learners First, have ensured we are still leading the way in terms of radically changing the way that learners learn and teachers teach. In conjunction with our developing strategic relations with partners across the globe – we really are shaping the future of learning in Kent!"
Grahame Ward Assistant Director, Education and Libraries
Conference Microsite
Victims of our own success, you would expect nothing more from the e-curriculum team than to have all the conference resources available in electronic format, The conference microsite will give you access to the keynote slides, workshop presentations, ICT strategy aims and all the latest issues of the Extranet magazine, including the ‘Putting Learners First’ conference special edition. Better still, all of this, available to take away on the day on your new usb memory microstick.
We hope you enjoy the conference and are left with some positive points of action from Alan November and our partners for your schools development of ICT. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please contact us on e-curriculum-strategy@kent.gov.uk
We would also like to thank everyone who has helped in bringing the conference together. A special thank you goes to all the students and teachers who have given valuable time to share their ICT experience.
