Centre d'Hardelot

The Hardelot Centre is a unique venue for schools and groups, looking for proximity, with a change of scenery; Frenchness, within an English-speaking context; security, with a taste of adventure and fun.

  • The journey time from Kent can be less than two hours, but straightaway you are plunged into real French life, French food, French culture…
  • You have free rein of the Centre while you’re here, with its 8 acres of woodland, abundant wildlife, good homely and healthy cooking, and on-site activities
  • An ideal base for exchanges (linguistic, cultural, social…), language learning, visits to historic sites, environmental study, art/music/drama projects, leisure and sport, class induction days, staff development days, cross curricular activities, learning outside the classroom, and lots more.

The Centre facilities include accommodation for 32 young people in bunk bedded rooms, accompanied by 4 staff members, in 2 rooms. All rooms are heated, and have washbasins. Showers and toilets are found on each corridor.

Meals are taken in the restaurant, where our French staff prepare 4 course dinners, buffet continental breakfasts and packed or buffet lunches as an option. You can choose your menus before you come and let us know of any special dietary requirements.

You will enjoy the sole use of the on-site facilities: our classroom, games room, reading/ environmental room, games pitches, low ropes course, orienteering course, open air stage and woodland paths.

The Centre can also be used for seminars and professional training. Our conference room, in conjunction with the day accommodation offered in the house, provides an unusual venue for groups, who can also take advantage of the proximity of the local restaurants, hotels, shops and golf courses.
